These are some questions usually mention by most of students in Hoan Nhien class

  •  Hoan Nhien is Back to Nature. We need to Return to Nature to have the energy source from Nature.
  • Food is just one source in Nature. We also need air and the heat from the sun. Beside those, we still need the Negative Source from the Earth, and Chi from vegetation.
  • The requirements of practicing Hoan Nhien are bare feet to the ground or grass and stay near the Nature to receive the most benefit from training Hoan Nhien
  • Training Breath in Hoan Nhien qigong is named “Roar of Lion.” We need to pronounce a sound like the roar of a Lion because of the following:
  • Easily adjust the breath time coordinated to breath guide music.
  • The throat will vibrate when we pronounce a sound. Blood and Chi will be come to throat and energize the important endocrine gland that is Thyroid gland. This gland function balances and supports the development of both our physical and mental condition.
  • When pronouncing and prolonging a sound, Low Dantien becomes hardened, so Chi will be guided to it in natural way.
  • When pronouncing the sound, the vibration will spread throughout the body and stimulate the cells to function better. This vibration of sound has the effect of eliminating sorrow and depression in the body.
  • When you inhale, the air goes into the lungs through the nose or mouth according to the training method. I do not see a document of science saying that from the lungs there is a hole down to the belly.
  • It is not to guide Chi to the Lower Dantien, but move the belly muscles at the same time as inhaling. For example, move your arm when you inhale, then we can say to breathe and guide the Chi to your arms. Hoan Nhien qigong used to cure the disease, no need to use any method to guide Chi to Dan Dien because if we use our mind to do this, it may conflict against the Natural way of body.
  • With Hoan Nhien Qi Gong for healing, Low Dantien will naturally activate as we exhale and prolong in your throat. This method does not cause side effects if exercise over a long period of time.
  • Before answering your question, I would like to explain the purpose of Hoan Nhien Qigong. Hoan Nhien Qigong is a Chi exercise in the meridians to unlock the stagnant chis caused by numerous reasons in a person’s life. Hoan Nhien Qi Gong aims to improve from weak health to normal health, and if they continue to exercise it will create in them better health than their previous experience.
  • Slow breathing has the affect of balancing the Chi disturbance in the body as a necessary step to restoring Chi function in the meridians. The pace of slow breathing can be up to one breath per minute.
  • Breathing faster than normal can strengthen the muscles of the internal organs. With rapid breathing, the chest and abdomen will have to move a lot. This type of breath stimulates the body’s ability to convert body fat into energy and the amount of fat surrounding the internal organs will be a focus in this breathing technique. Fast breathing can be up to 100 breaths per minute.
  • In short, in the Hoan Nhien Qi Gong, the practitioner needs to train with both types of fast and slow breathing at the same time.
  • Hoan Nhien Qigong is a practice for all ages and different levels of health.
  • Apply the fast or slow pace in training depends on the level of each person. Do not exceed your ability, all training should be between 60% to 70% of your ability.
  • If you want to increase the intensity of the exercise, you must gradually increase the intensity day-by-day and only increase if the body and mind are comfortable with the intensity of current training. If you would like more information on this, you can read the book Back to Nature and breathing book.
  • At any age, warming up the body is a very important step before any exercise. With Hoan Nhien Qigong, you should sit or stand still and breathe about 10 minutes before to start of any exercise program, and this is the method of warming up the body of theHoan Nhien Qigong.
  • Hoan Nhien Qi Gong breathing method will warm your body first from the lung and heart, and then the heat will spread throughout the body. Another reason is that when you breathe, your blood will get enough oxygen for the next workout.
  • Hoan Nhien is a qigong training for the practitioner to adapt to all the difficult situations that occur in daily life in both material and spiritual aspects.
  • Hoan Nhien has absolutely no limitation applied in the practice. Hungry or full, tired or strong, hot or cold, etc., will not affect the exercise.
  • Hoan Nhien Qigong is a practice to rebuild a healthy body and peace of mind.
  • Hoan Nhien absolute does not encourage or favor any particular religious but focuses only on the person with the belief that “It is necessary to improve physical and mental health to deliver their own dreams”
  • If there is a distinction in the Hoan Nhien, then there will be two kinds of people:
Accept and surrender to their illness or fighting sickness and hardship to move on, even if they failed, they already proved their best fighting power.

This is one of the most frequently question in the class of Hoan Nhien and also mentioned in other sects.
The following is the theory of the Hoan Nhien Qi Gong for training to cure illnesses: The human body is a closely related system. All organs have blood and chi circulation to each other. When an organ has a problem, it affects the others. For example: no one has a strong heart with a weak kidney; because of this reason, all training positions must be practiced at the same time, not to focus on any particular posture.

  •  The first thing of practicing Hoan Nhien qigong to cure the illnesses is practice breathing correctly even though that person doesn’t have any lung problem. The lung is the first door that needs to be opened in advance of a processing a full recovery body.
  • The second thing to do is to walk barefoot on the ground or grass as described above.
  • The third thing is to diligently practice every day if you want to achieve good results.
  • If there is a lot of time, all movements should be done once.
  • If there is not enough time for all the movements, take advantage of a few free moments you may have in a day to practice some of the movements you like or appear in your head.
  • If the situation does not allow for hand or foot swinging, then it is possible to sit or stand still while breathing in the Hoan Nhien (pronounced breathing) method.
  • Please remember: Exercise, more or less, is still beneficial for the body; but not exercising is not beneficial for the body at all.
  • For curing purposes, when inhaling you do not need to notice bulging or pulling in belly but just control the inhalation in time with breath-controlling music.
  • The benefit of this exercise is to maximize the volume of the lungs and to mobilize the muscles inside the chest when breathing consciously. This is a main factor in restoring the body’s health.
  • Coordinating consciously breathing with abdominal bulging or pulling in belly motion is another level of qigong.
  • Smiling is a description of the face representing the most meaningful states of Mind. When smiling, the two acupuncture points above the lips (Governing vessel GV 26) and under the lips (Conception vessel CV 24) will be activated and connected these two large meridians naturally. These two meridians when connected are capable of regulating all the yin and yang meridians in the body.
  • Keeping a long smile on your face is not an easy thing because of internal motion, but we can keep a smile on your face with the following method even if your smile is not really from your soul:
  • The upper and lower teeth gently touch each other, keeping the two sides of the lips slightly stretching both sides. Doing this, the face will have a smile gesture,
  • For the long run, you will have a smile on your face and soul at the same time. This is a manifestation of a healthy body and true peace of soul.
  • Do not forget the smile of your life is the best practice method of Hoan Nhien Qi Gong.

They can still exercise in the Qi Gong. People with paralytic or weak legs, can sit in a chair with their bare feet touching the ground or grass and only do hand postures.

Inhaling and exhaling to the rhythm of a breath-controlling music of Hoan Nhien is a way to focus on the practice and not be distracted by the stresses of life. You can find the guided tunes in “Back to Nature Breathing Practice.” Exhaling and prolong in the throat is also a method of relieving stress in the mind.

In cold states where you cannot go out, you can use the following method to collect the Yin energy to practice Hoan Nhien Qi Gong. You can buy a metal tray at Autopart stores, using copper wires to connect metal trays to metal water pipes in your home.

Practice breathing during pregnancy period is really good for the mother and fetus. Be notice that you should not practice breaths that are too difficult and hold the breath while breathing. Just practice gentle breathing.

For example: like inhaling and exhaling equally, inhaling twice and exhaling once with 5 breaths per one-minute.

Qi Gong is a practice that aims to make a weak person to be healthy.
This is the body and mind exercising, so when the exercise is completed, the mind is surely refreshed and the body is surely energized. The method of inhaling and exhaling with pronouncing the sound and bare feet touching the soil or grass are the two main factors for achieving such results.

  • The Hoan Nhien Breathing method (pronouncing while breathing out) will greatly affect the internal organs of the human body. This method of breathing will increase the excretion of the body. The foot is a special place in the body that excretes bad chi and toxins in the body out to the ground.
  • This Breathing Method increases the body’s Yang energy. Yin energy must be taken from bare feet touching the soil or grass. The bioelectricity will be balanced with Yin and Yang.
